Home renovation series ‘Good Bones’ launches in KSA

House Renovation

Mother and daughter team, Karen E Laine and Mina Starsiak, star in a new home renovation and flipping series “Good Bones,” which premiered in the Kingdom on Monday on HGTV, channel 357.
Discovered by casting agents through their Facebook page, daughter Mina, a real estate agent, and mom Karen, a former attorney, left their full-time jobs to focus on revitalizing their hometown of Indianapolis one property at a time.
Karen brings the experience and legal expertise, while Mina brings the real estate know-how as they snatch up neglected and often overlooked homes, transforming them into stunning renovations.
“With every house we renovate, we’re raising property values and bringing new homeowners to the neighborhood,” said Mina. Karen added: “For me, it’s all about having an impact in our hometown and making it a better place.”
The show’s construction team, which includes their extended family members, also adds to the mother-daughter dynamic.
“’Good Bones’ is a show built around families transforming rundown homes into something special,” said Phillip Luff, managing director, UK & EMEA, Scripps Networks Interactive.
“It doesn’t gloss over the renovation process, which at times can bring out family tension and unexpected set-backs, but it does show you how you can overcome some of these challenges when renovating your own place with a good attitude and a sense of humour.”
